Andrew Schenkel is an Assistant Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics and a frequent lecturer in their Executive Education programs. Dr. Schenkel is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Imperial College, London, UK. He received his doctorate from the Stockholm School of Economics. His dissertation focused on learning in the construction of the bridge between Sweden and Denmark. This chapter is based upon that study. His research interests include the study of social networks and their relationship to knowledge management and social capital. In addition, he conducts action research in the pharmaceutical industry at FENIX, the centre for research on knowledge and business creation.
