Biography

Kathy Hibbert is the Director of Continuing Teacher Education, Faculty of Education and the Director of the Centre of Education, Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario Canada. Her more than twenty years in education have fostered research interests in the following areas: investigating scholarship in medical education, language and literacy teaching and learning, professional development, virtual learning environments and professional communities of practice. In particular, her interests lie in looking at policies/decisions/practices surrounding learning environments that stimulate and engage teachers' intellectual curiosity in ways that inform classroom practices. She teaches graduate courses in Virtual Learning Environments, Pedagogic Discourse, Research Methods and Curriculum. She recently published in The International Handbook of Virtual Learning Environments, (Kluwer Academic).
