Biography

Fernand Gervais is a professor from the Faculty of Education at Laval University, Canada. His research interests are in the area of Teacher Education more specifically in Learning and Cognition. His expertise is in situated learning, sociocultural perspectives on cognition, social theories of learning and ethnomethodology. Recently, he has participated in a few research projects involving Virtual Communities of Practice. His contribution has been in the development of a coherent theoretical framework to investigate communities of practice.
