Alex Kendall, University of Wolverhampton, UK
Alex Kendall is Associate Dean for Education at the University of Wolverhampton. While this role involves a broad range of educational work, her primary focus lies in the area of initial teacher education and continuing professional development programmes for adult literacy specialists. Alex's research to date has drawn on ideas from cultural studies to explore both the reading identities of young adults studying in further education contexts and the professional identities of teachers working in the post-compulsory sector. Prior to moving into higher education, she taught ESOL, English Literature and language and literacy in a range of further education contexts, both in the UK and abroad.
